Mrs. Honey Anne Glendinning
Honey Anne Glendinning
My journey into the world of dogs and showing started in 1968 while still in high school. My family had moved from Ontario to BC and for the first time we were without a dog in our lives. For my birthday my parents surprised me with an Irish Setter, a breed I had always loved. The breeder suggested showing him in confirmation. There was a show in a few weeks that we all went and watched. I immediately fell in love. I found out where handling classes were and jumped right in. Six months later I purchased a female Irish. She became my first Champion.
When my younger sister's birthday was coming up my father asked me to research who in Canada bred good English Setters. Thus was my sister's first champion. Several more were purchased and from there and I established my kennel under the Perm Registered name Fantail.
I handled for several years but honestly that gift and talent belongs to my sister. She has gone on to become one of the world's top handler, top groomer, breeder, loved and admired the world over. When she married Bill McFadden a magical team was created. Taffe McFadden is a one of a kind and just so proud to have her as my sister
My Fantail line of English Setters have produced close to 100 Champions, 7 Best in Show winners countless Specialty winners and Top Dog All Breed in Canada with 52 Best in Shows., Am Can BIS Ch Fantail's Sunshine Man.
I handed in my handling and became a Canadian All Breed judge. I decided several years ago I needed to challenge myself more so I applied to also become a credited American judge. That road is difficult, time consuming, costly but the knowledge and experience is second to none. At this point I have All Sporting, Working, Herding, several Hounds and Toys plus 1/2 of Non-Sporting. I have applied for the remaining breeds to finish Non-Sporting for my 4th Group
I love this sport, the dogs and the people that are so devoted to produce breed specific quality.
