Eric began in the sport in 1970 with a puppy from Dinro Dane Kennels.  Competing in breed and Junior Show, he twice qualified for the finals at the Garden. Eric obtained an AKC Apprentice Handler's license to Dinro, where he was schooled in breeding and showing. 

Upon college graduation, he embarked on a handling career, first based in N.Y and then California. He piloted about 100 Danes or so to their championships, and enjoyed successes in many other breeds as well. Some Danes became influential producers and can be found in many pedigrees today. He showed three dogs to #1 in breed: "Barnaby" (1979), "Tourister" (1981) and "Higgins" (1988) and a #1 Bitch, "Savannah" (1986).

In 1990, Eric was offered a position on the executive staff of the AKC as Administrator of Judges Education and produced the majority of the Judge's Breed Standard Videos. It was a great learning experience to work with expert breed committees and judges, who acted as consultants on this project.

Eric started judging in 1995 and is currently approved for the Sporting, Working and Herding Groups and 23 of the Terrier breeds (twelve of which are permit status).

A member of the Great Dane Club of America for forty plus years, Eric has been voted by the membership five times to judge at the National Specialty, the Top Twenty twice, and the 1988 National Sweeps. He has served on the Board of Directors and was Chair of the Standard Committee. He has been honored to judge National and Regional Specialties for many breed clubs. He is a twenty plus year member of the Palm Beach County Dog Fanciers all breed club.  

Eric has had the privilege of judging at some of our most prestigious shows. He enjoys all shows, both large and small, where quality dogs are present, along with gracious exhibitors.
