Chris began showing dogs in 1972, with a Miniature Schnauzer and a German Shorthaired Pointer.  She and her husband finished 30 Miniature Schnauzers, 7 German Shorthaired Pointers, 2 Cairn Terriers, and 2 Shiba Inu, almost all breeder-owner-handled.  Chris put obedience titles through UD on some of her dogs, field trialed the German Shorthairs, and her husband put the first AKC herding title on a Pumi, a Hungarian herding breed.  They have shown the Pumi in rare breed shows and internationally having one Pumi who is a European and 4-time World Winner and another who is a European and World Winner.  In addition to the shows, they have visited Hungary a number of times and imported breeding stock.  Since the Pumi came into AKC July 1, 2016, they have owned or bred 36 AKC champions.

Chris is a student of all breeds, but especially those she is closely involved with.  She developed the current judges education CDs for the American Miniature Schnauzer Club, the National Shiba Club of America, and the Hungarian Pumi Club of America.  She is the Chair of the Judges Education Committee for the Pumi club.  She also presents seminars on the Terrier group and its form and function.                                   

Professionally, Chris is a retired Project Manager from a company that provides case management software for courts.

Chris has held just about every office in the various dog clubs she belongs to and has been Show Chair numerous times for specialties, group clubs, and all-breed clubs.  She currently belongs to the American Miniature Schnauzer Club, Hungarian Pumi Club of America, Silver Falls Kennel Club, Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon, Terrier Association of Oregon, Portland Miniature Schnauzer Club, Dog Judges Association of America, and Oregon Dog Judges.  She is also the webmaster for five of these clubs.  When not doing club work or showing, she competes in Nose Work trials.
