Mr. Robert L. Robinson
In 1994 I began my judging career and am currently approved by the American Kennel Club to judge the Sporting, Hound, Working, and Herding Groups, Junior Showmanship, and Best in Show. In addition, I am approved to judge for the United Kennel Club, American Rare Breeds Association, and the Australian Shepherd Club of America.
I am an AKC Breeder of Merit having bred approximately fifty breeder-owner handled champions of record including National Specialty winners, and hunt test/field Trial qualifiers. I attend lure coursing, herding trials, coonhound night hunts, obedience/agility trials, as well as hunt tests and field trials.
It has been my privilege to contribute to the dog fancy through participation in the Irish Setter Club of America where I served as President(2004-2008), Past President (2009), and National Specialty Show Chair (2008).
I am a member of the Dog Judges of America, and the American Dog Judges Association. I am a founding member and President of the Sporting Dog Association of Arizona, and Treasurer of the Working Dog Club of Arizona, and a founding member of the Arizona Dog Judges Education, Inc. I have served six terms as the President of the Irish Setter Club of Arizona, one term as a director/member of the Irish Setter Club of Greater Tucson, and as both President and Treasurer of Saguaro State Kennel Club. I was the Chairman of and instrumental in establishing the Irish Setter Club of America Foundation, and served as its initial Secretary/Treasurer.
As a parent club approved Irish setter mentor, I have presented a number of judges seminars and served as a mentor for future judges aspiring to judge the Irish setter.
