Ms. Marjorie Martorella
Marjorie Martorella was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her involvement in purebred dogs began in 1966 with the purchase of a pet Irish Setter. Obedience training and obedience trials brought her into contact with the show world. In 1968, Marjorie purchased her first Pointer and has not been without one since.
Marjorie graduated from Wagner College and received a Masters Degree from Long Island University. She is a retired New York City Intermediate School Teacher of Spanish.. She currently resides in Millstone Township, New Jersey.
In 1974, Marjorie had her first Pointer litter under the Marjetta prefix. Since then she has bred over 150 champions, 9 Best in Show winners a National Specialty winner. The most momentous win was of course Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club in 1985 with Ch. Marjetta National Acclaim, handled by Michael Zollo and owned by Mrs. Robson. Marjorie was an AKC licensed handler and eventually applied for her judges license in 1981. She is currently licensed to judge the Sporting, Hound , Working Groups and 3 Non-Sporting breeds. She has judged numerous National Specialties and also Pointers at the AKC Centennial Show.
