JoAnne has been involved with, owned, and bred Afghan Hounds for over 40 years. She has successfully bred and largely owner-handled them, exhibiting them under the prefix of “Sankhya”. Some of the top-winning Afghan Hounds descend from her tightly line-bred Sankhya Afghan Hounds.

Her AKC Judging began in 2002. She is currently approved for the Hound Group, the Sporting Group, and the Working Group, 32 Herding Breeds, Dalmatians, Poodles, Bichons, French Bulldogs, Keeshond, Italian Greyhounds, Pomeranians, Papillons, Kerry Blue Terriers, Miniature Schnauzer, Cairn Terriers, Scottish Terriers, West Highland White Terriers, and Misc., All Breed Junior Showmanship, and BIS.  She has judged throughout the USA and several times overseas. She is honored to have judged many Afghan Hound Specialties, including the National as well as many other Breed Specialties in several AKC Groups.
